Im the drinker of the two of us, so grog, no matter how expensive/worthy wouldn't be appreciated. Besides, she loves my hefe weizens, and koelsh's. She loves handbags, but she has heaps already. A ticket to a gig might do the trick. Just gotta find a punk band touring early next year. hmmmmm The Po...

Re: Paradise Lost for Aussie Surfboard Makers Amid China Imp
I have a vision of how they could succeed, and I admit I could be way off, but it’s just an idea; Lets look at how the Asian pop outs do their work; 1) Work buy, sell and ship in bulk 2) Consolidate large scale manufacture into one (or one group) building 3) Have full time employees and management w...

Re: Paradise Lost for Aussie Surfboard Makers Amid China Imp
This all assumes that the chinese imports will only ever be second rate quality? I'd suggest that perhaps the future lies in local shapers getting their heads together and working out a cohesive forward thinking plan on how to not just cope, but succeed going forward. Belly-aching and throwing your ...

Ha, was just going through my photobucket pics when I found this doodle that I did for RicV after I snapped the first Magic Wand he made me and we were deciding what to do with the pieces, soon as I saw it I thought of this thread and the GST! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/wand1977/carpet1....

Re: Surfboard design & eye injuries
I got belted in the back by my mal this week. Got held up in the wind and bam. I thought, geeze, if it had of hit my neck that hard the old beast would have snapped it. Assault with a blunt instrument also causes damage. Aye, once on a breezy day I copped my 9'8" 1963 Gordon woods D-fin in the nogg...

Re: Surfboard design & eye injuries
if everyone rode boogie boards - and I mean those old style rubbery sponge ones, not the fancy slick bottom ones - and or mats then everyone would be safe - on this note I think that in 10 years time this nanny state we live in will have cottoned on and legislated in line with my suggestion. So get ...

Re: Watch out for...
One of the guys up here had his Rodeo Ute stolen a little while back at 5.30am. He always used to leave the keys on the chassis. I kept telling him. Especially after Pridmore's experience. $15,000 worth - probably now on someone's farm property out in the hills. Every day I see guys doing the same ...

Clubbies/lifeguards best be on their collective game. Distal super muscly e groundswell with sets and lulls in the Christmas/NY break equals possible drowning outbreak. This was my first thought as well, tourists and fishos drowning lef right and center. Got some friends out from Seattle, they are ...

I had something like that in the early nineties, big domed tail twinnies at the back, was a spinout machine in anything remotely critical. It were a H&H IIRC.

Re: Noseriding comsand/tuflite boards
I find them far too buoyant from experience. Rails dont seem to suck the water over the tail as a traditional shaped glass board I need not say much more than what's here, what marcus has said is spot on, the reason a board noserides WELL is due to the suction of the water over the deck and rails -...

It's a slightly heavy PU construction with a chocolatey swirl resin tint on the deck, good quality build, picked up off a bloke who was trying to sell it for $450 on ebay but wasn't getting any bites, he originally listed it for $500 and it went by without a bid, he then relisted it at $450 and it w...
