Re: Dark Pandemonium: Parko@Pipe.

The situation you described regarding Kalohe and his "fluffers" made me think that Nike send a few guys with Kalohe to look after him and Rothman was using his stature and reputation to intimidate them? All sounds like good fun anyhow did TC or Mick or Parko have fluffers in there early days or was...

Re: Learning to shape as a hobby?

How stable do your stands need to be? I need to make some for ding repairs anyway?
You also need a lighting box what height and distance from the board is best?

Re: Gibber's compsand build thread.

Tiger are these boards you are shaping the same compound and make up as fire wires?

If so firewires have that pressure vent yours don't what is the reason?

Awesome looking boards by the way.

Re: Surf Brands

Without them I doubt we would be able to enjoy webcasts and videos of the best surfers in the world in the best waves. But to the core surfer does the image or success of a surf brand matter? Without them the industry would collapse but would it stop people from going surfing? Would it change your ...

2013 World Tour Predictions

Who will rise?
Who will fall?
Any surprises

My prediction is Jordy Smith will make a run up the rankings again and will take it out.

Re: Board Stance

Hmmm. That would suck. My $0.02... it's probably gonna be easier learning to take off switch than learning to surf natural footed. Easiest way is probably first just lying on the ground and practicing pop-ups with your right leg forward. Do maybe 20 or 30 a day, and also give it a go on a docile bo...

Surf Brands

Surf wear brands such as Billabong, Quicksilver, RipCurl etc have a large stake in professional surfing and fuel the surf industry and jobs within the sport from advertisements in magazines to sponsoring and nurturing up and coming grommets. Without them I doubt we would be able to enjoy webcasts an...

Re: Slater Hater ???

Ha Ha that thread bought out a lot of passion.
I was off the ball on a few things too. Would be good to have a few quotes to read on the Slater Hater too. How can people hate the guy he's been an ambassador for the sport and has put his name and image to a lot of causes using his profile for good.

Re: Dark Pandemonium: Parko@Pipe.

Jeez eh all judgemental! I guess you had to be there. Re Eddie, I'm not a fan, just an acquaintance. Nick wasn't trying to be judgemental so apologise if you took it that way. Eddie Rothman seems like an interesting character thats reputation has grown due somewhat to the surf media mentioning him ...

Re: Dark Pandemonium: Parko@Pipe.

How was the surf Nick? Is Tough Mudder considered a sport or is the shirt more a momento like a concert? So Kolohe is considered an up and comer but whats the fluffer crew? Does Parko or Mick or Taj or Kelly have one did older generations of surfers have one? As for Eddie I guess he accidentally or...

Yeah I dunno about solemn. Hungover yes, lighthearted and happy also yes. Think it's fair to say that unless you were part of Kelly's closest circle, you were stoked with yesterday's result and experienced -- closely or at a bit of a remove -- some of the massive relief that cascaded through Parko'...

Re: Dark Pandemonium: Parko@Pipe.

Seems like there was a lot of old faces in the crowd like Torquay's Maurice Cole did you guys go off the rails after the contest? Off the rails? How the hell could they go off the rails when they were never really on them? None of them blokes ever had more than one oar in the water.... For them then.
