sounds like my 7'3" Parmenter widow-maker
How does it differ from a bonzer?

It’s a convincing explanation on the advantages

All else equal a widow maker fin setup may be a tad less drivey, be a little less tail oriented and have a little more pivot in turns.

Less tail oriented sounds like a broader sweetspot which is good. And a little more pivot sounds positive.

thats a fair call.
to be honest all the other design elements of the board, including outline, foil and rocker probably outweigh the effects of the fin cluster.
ie, it would go great as a single, bonzer and even a thruster.
but I love the widow maker feel.

If you’re surfing beachies etc >>>> points it makes sense to my mind anyway.
Often wondered how a Bonzer 5 would go with two runners knocked off.

I surfed my Bonzer 5 with one of the runner knocked out from rocks, it actually was really fun, having that side loosened right up.

I'm thinking something like a Neal Purchase 2+1 but as a 7' roundtail, or alternatively a 7' version of my Channel Islands/Campbell Bros Biscuit Bonzer.

That NP looks sweet.
Note how the fin cluster is more forward than a Bonzer.

Onboard at Mona Vale making under license. Not too bad. I remember they used to be outrageously priced with import costs.

Doesn’t he do shaping trips here?
$1200 for a short board. Logs $2K plus.

Not sure. But I keep walking into Onboard looking at C - Buckets. Thinking about an impulse buy. Then running out immediately with a boner in my pants resisting wanking all over them. They just look like they would work.

If anyone has a hard on for a Christenson flat tracker 2.0 shaped by Chris (as opposed to ghost shaped) I have an 8'er I have ridden all of 3 times with a sweet fcs whip connect 8' fin for 1K.
My bad lower back prefers the looseness of twinnies.
