Thanks Steve, it's a bummer we couldn't meet up. Would've loved to check the quiver.steve shearer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 1:02 pmGood luck mate, find that little knob of sand and sit on it. Wait for the good ones.
If I was down there you could rummage through the quiver but it’s too risky while I’m up at Bribie
Buddy, you out there today? I'm dropping fam at Ballina around 10.30 and heading the fcuk to the Ox

I thought you had purchased it in a legal transactionajohnsen wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:52 pmYeah, I want my own. Really nice board. Trust me, I tried to lose Carroll's address. I went to a hypnotherapist but that didn't work. I went out looking for a one-punch kinda thing, but Marrickville's more into pho and ukuleles than punching, so that didn't pan out. Finally, Nick threatened my family so I gave up.

I'm enjoying the girls surfing J Bay more because they are riding down the line rather than trying to cram ridiculous manouvres onto a classic point real wave.

Did you get some Wyre.
I just got home and checked the Point, looked pretty damn delicious.
mad bait balls ......huge one just outside the take-off, one half way along and a massive one about 2 hundred yards out.
might go have a throw for jewfish before this JBay comp next call.
dead flat at Bribie. Had a nice fish at the Jetty this morning.

I really enjoy some of the girls as much as the men like Steph and Carissa but for some of the girls the boards look enormous and some of the turns a bit awkward. They all rip of course. No argument there.
Saying that the board size may be an illusion to my untrained eye. I did a quick calculation of litres of board required vs. weight for Kelly and Steph and they both came out at .34 of a litre to support each kilo. The same. So I'm talking out of my arse (again).

Yep, what a wave! My first time at Lennox would you believe, couldn't find a park for a while which was an indication of the crowd but ended up with three good rides.steve shearer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 5:06 pmDid you get some Wyre.

The first two came in quick succession, both good sets waves but it seemed like the tide was too high? I know the sand isn't optimal, so I presume when it is 'in' that middle section gets beautifully hollow. Anyway they seemed to fat out a bit. That said, they were still delicious.
Then as the tide dropped I got a smaller one further in and it was a screamer, all the way through.
Loved it!
Would love to see it with more East in the swell, must get a fair bit heavier?
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I’ll defer to the master but it depends on the sand I think.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Just saw a video of Josh Kerrs daughter doing a huge air reverse in a wave tub. Guess that’s the future. Wonder if she can do one in the ocean.
