Re: Mentawai quiver.
Have had success with the supaglue .. clean head of grubscrew out with some metho and a toothpick and air dry before gluing and dont get any glue on the box thread..you can drop a short piece of plastic drinking straw in the hole to shield the threads
Theres some vids on youtube i think.

Who the frock is Cedric the Albatross ?

Re: Mentawai quiver.
Jesus christ.
Allen key sets often come with star keys as well -- they have splayed hexagonal edges flaring out from the shaft.
Use one of them, a size too big.
But it's probably too late if you've already tried to drill it.
I have a rule that might be of use in the future for others as well: if an Allen key (ie FCS key or other brand) slips once, like just one time, chuck it and go straight to the carbon steel option. Then get some new grub screws as soon as poss. Futures grubs are longer than FCS one and are easier to lock into as a result.

Re: Mentawai quiver.
it was for a 6'9".....don;t think I'll take it now.
forecast looks like a lot of S wind and small surf, which is the worst case scenario I think.
I'll pack that fish, probably be riding a lot of cross shore small lefts.

Sleep on it
It will be easier tomorrow and be sure to clean the grub screw areas on the other boards your taking...screws out and back in nice and gently
its a prick pissing about with them over there.
Never Drill ..gets hot melts the plastic thread ..lefthanded drill last resort.

Steve following advice on removing grub screws.
Re: Mentawai quiver.
Any luck with this?
If you can get any grip inside the hex head with new fin key or allen key gently screw clockwise and send the screw thru into the box providing you havent deformed the hex enough that it will root the plastic thread.

I thought in this day and age I could tap an app and someone with brown skin would show up and do it for 50 cents.

Simply not sure, forecasts keep changing. I've been through quite a few hurricanes. Made sense to name them after women.
