Ace Buchan just tweeted “ Surfing a wavepool, staying in a casino, and it feels strangely right. Right where I want to be. Thumbs up emoji WSL.”
Maybe give the peyote a rest Ace.

The moment Medina was silenced for his rant meant the rest of the lesser lights had to fall in line with the WSL corporate message.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
What was Medina's rant?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
From my limited experiences with pro surfing and pro surfers the bubble they inhabit is overwhelming.
It is a mutually reinforcing echo chamber.
And all due respect to our dear Nick but he's been in it for so long now I even fear he loses touch with the great unwashed.
I found a 1981 Tracks today and had a read. Nick wrote a couple thousand words on a pro contest in England.
The tone was so touching and innocent.....37 years ago.
When you've spent your entire professional life in that realm it would be almost impossible not to become one with the prevailing way of thinking.

Surfing was a way to get away from, and thumb your nose at the corporate world, its very antithesis, now, for fcuks sake, it has been subsumed into that corporate world.
Reject that stultifying corporate embrace, rebel NOW while you can still tread the path of freedom.

Oh that, thought it was about the surf ranch or something.
Strange the WSL silence that kind of stuff, it's what viewers want

Well yes, it sure the fcuk is. But not because it's surfing, because it's dull human behaviour.steve shearer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 3:26 pmTying up and excluding the public from a prime break so some wealthy real estate agent can make his daughter happy sounds...... not amazing.

I dunno man, everyone lives in their own bubbles, you've got yours of which I only ever see the outlines and have little clue of the rest, my own bubble may not be what you think at all, like I still have a lot of friends tangled up in pro surfing but have way more friends outside that scene, in surfing and out of it, so try not to judge that if you can bear it.
