You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Bring back the paddle battle from the beach :-D-: . Easy way to sort out priority for the start of a heat.

Man I thought Bells was better than Winki this morning. I went out early and kept looking down there from up at Rincon. Solid sets every 20 minutes, quite a few wave sin between, but not all of them getting down to Winkipop. The crowd thinned rapidly in expectation of the event starting, but instead KP shifted down to Winki, and Bells was super fun for quite a while. Wind starting to turn a bit now though.

Swell kick quite a bit this morning, very pushy at a spot that doesn't pick up the swell.

Wanna ask something to the older lads here,
It seems like surfers are wasting a whole section, if you watch the video posted above you can tell people were using the whole wave, from the beginning.
And i'm not even insinuating that they're not using the area they should on that kind of wave, talking about only throwing away what looks like a great fking way to start a ride.
Some people doesn't even know what to do...
It's exactly why i think the tour needs Bells.
You can use tradition to look up the future.

Julio, re: ignoring the first part of the wave.

I like Bells a lot and feel it is underrated and often under surfed in the event. People sit way down on the end bowl takeoff and sometimes even wide of that, then surf it "slow", trying to keep the pace down in order to time those straight up and down big-spray top turns. But the waves they catch have often already peeled for 150 metres from the top takeoff outside Little Rincon.

....it's just them trying to fit the panel's criteria

the top 32 pro surfers could ride that back Bells wave in their sleep on any board they own. Hell even an old guy like me can. Last really good surf I had out there was on a 5'9". But the judges don't really wanna see the more lateral lines you typically draw to make those longer sections running down toward the Bowl. The judges want to see vertical top to bottom turns pushed from outside the flat wave base up into the hook, riding really close to the foam and as steep as possible, and fully committed carves vertically down the face at speed out of the lip area. Plus whatever innovative big air shit you can come up with.

So going back in and deep and constructing an entire wave is not rewarded. Three megaturns in tight on the bowl section is. So that's what they do.

The delights of the back Rincon bomb don't translate to the criteria. They're just delights on their own. One of those odd times when the needs of a heat just don't quite fit the best essence of a location.

Parko seems one of the few who can do both on occasion. Wasted waves.
