Re: Where did you surf today ?

Post by ctd » Mon Feb 26, 2018 9:18 pm

I went to school with a guy who was the Australian schoolboys U18 400m champ (just looked him up, he ran a 47.5). It was quite funny watching him at school athletics carnival, he would win by 50m or more.

He was also very smart, did law, joined a merchant bank. Now I’ve looked him up on linked in; what’s that feeling when you realise someone you knew is way more successful than you have ever been?

Thanks guys. Next time pick a better sport for my memories, maybe shot out so I can recall that guy who was the shot put champ at school until he dropped out in year 10

Well, when he finished you would be at approx the 275m mark. I would be 50m behind you, if that’s any consolation

Watch Darren Clark play Rugby League. It will make you feel a lot better.

Surely a marathon would be worse.
400 max effort is a complete mind fcuk. First 100: wow I'm flying! Second 100: well if this is as bad bas it gets, I'll be OK. Around 250 coming into the curve: oh christ no. The last 50 feels like it takes longer than all the rest of it put together.

crabmeat pick it up for fcuk's sake, people in my iron squad are running that at 52sec. Back to back.

and oh yeah it's super super fun down here right now. Really channels get out of Manly. There are much better waves elsewhere.

Rarely surf Manly much, daylight savings and darker mornings limit my available options before work options.

Signed copies will be available next week for $50 each through realsurf merchandise. A percentage* of all money raised will go back to realsurf.

*zero. Zero’s a percent.

Boomerang......pissed around on the old fish. Marginal but the best on offer. The crew appeared to be transplanted straight from Avalon. Thought it would improve as the tide dropped but it got worse.

What’s going on, is it a long weekend in NSW? Or normal weekend up there these days?

There's under 12 girls at athletics running 1:06- 1:09 that would beat me.
