Yes, it's either been flat or closing out for most of summer. Not good for the average punter.

If it turns out to be the 8 foot at 13 seconds it’s going to be a reefs or points only affair.

Might get to dust the 8 foot gun off for the first time since June 6 2016.

Monday’s currently calling possible sets at 10-12 ft. There’ll be some mental action at certain spots south of the gong.

Meanwhile, there's 6m of swell hitting here. Just shy of long fetch cyclonic winds hit this morning. Wind going to swing a bit to open up some places. Just another day in vicco

They’re saying 8-10 up here Iggs. Jump on a plane and head up. I’ve got a room for you and spare car and you can surf big Lennox and surf low tide Greenmount on the way back up. They’re possibly the two best options on the East Coast and will cost you less than a tank of petrol.

Be mixed up junk down south Iggs for the most part. You know this. 2 good sized swells in the water from opposing directions with onshore winds most of the weekend. Not many spots will be even ridable with those conditions. Jimmy's offer looks to be a pretty sweet deal.

Thanks jimmy. Very kind offer. I’d love to but if was going to head up it would be for more than a single day to make it worth the effort. And I can’t afford the time away at the moment.

I’ll be watching it all take shape over the next 48 hours. I’m aiming to take a single day off work early next week. It won’t be epic like greenmount or Lennox, but there’ll be something about. So far I’ve got my fingers crossed for a go out at windang on the 8 foot gun early Monday. That’s if the winds stay light/ene and don’t switch south. Or if they do, then I’ll head a bit further south, or north.

it'll be a write off here.

swell will peak to big. closing out the whole bay from point danger to currumbin. then as it subsides all those banks will be at north straddie.

man, that's a long drive just to surf with 378 other people who all have their froth on. go a little further north.

Got the jetski yet? I know a place that'll be amazing on Sunday, but can't get away for long enough.

Fingers crossed for the following system.

I don't have recent knowledge but prior experience suggests the rumours are accurate.
