the bigger ones actually look more user friendly.

Had to watch it again, those glassy conditions in the first 10-20s are just other worldly

Mick Campbell. Former CT surfer. He's probably had many like that.

I was watching that one and thought he had a GoPro in his teeth, and was very happy to see he just had a bushranger beard

Yep AI. Think he had some run-ins with Slater as well. Mick was a fiery little ginger.

I only surf two places and, as usual, I have been able to avoid the worst of the crowds so far this year. I do have the advantage of being able to check the surf continuously from 5:30am to 6:30pm and don't even bother if its too crowded, but still manage to sneak something twice a day, sometimes of dubious quality. Most surfers just hit racetrack and the peak at ulus. But so far its been much the same as the last 4 years.

When its double overhead or more there's only about 20 people out at ulus but the rewards are few and hard to get. Padang will have 60 plus though.

Critter Byrne reckons 80% of the surfers at ulus are Brazilians this year, thats a huge problem as you can guess.

The saving grace is that a lot of the surfers aren't very good. A lot of the good surfers have moved on to other places and just don't bother with bali at all. I've just gotten used to the incredible cheapness of bali and the friendly locals so am finding it hard to move on. Eventually I will.

That's the most makable video I've seen of kansai. Guys stalling and setting up tubes and making most of them. Must be a good swell direction.

Its fcccked. I turned up at Telescopes 6 years ago and ten fccckn boats were already sat there. Heartbreaking.

Saying that though i surfed a left arounf the corner with 4 of us.

Bali recently was unbelievable. Hard to find the enthusiasm to paddle out.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
