There's a homeless guy in Melbourne that goes around building sites around the templestowe area stealing spare change out of tradies cars. He doesn't take anything valuable, but he breaks in to locked cars. The guys that know about him just leave their car unlocked as it's cheaper that way.

I usually leave the keys in the ignition, sometimes with the door wide open.

Well I believe I've mentioned my sea cucumber theft deterrent before.
The sea cucumber, when fcuked with, disgorges its guts in the most disgusting manner, causing any self respecting marauder to gag and go to greener pastures.
With that strategy in mind, I've placed a pair of my rattiest Homer Simpson underpants into service in plain view on the car seat. A generous dose of brown shoe polish strategically located, along with some resin stained blue thin latex gloves, and it looks like somebody with an ebola/aids combo is living in the car.
Never had a problem.
Not the greatest chick magnet.

Yeah I usually dawn patrol so I guess hiding it is an option. I just want to know if it was accidentally not sewn on, or did somebody really think that there's no need for a key string or pocket?!.

It's a big issue guys, think about it. I know in the last 6 hrs here at work it's been gnawing at my mind.

well beery it is just an outside chance that the pocket is so well concealed that you haven't found it.

have a really good look around the inside back of the neck and inside the end of the zipper seams, specially if its a chest zip.

No way. Plenty of scumbags watch you stash your key, find your wallet and nick your cards. They put everything back just like it was so you don't realise until you go to use your card and it's not there. By the time you report it, they've gone on spree.

They've also been known to check your license for your address and take your house key. Again you may not realise it's gone until you get home and they've already been and jizzed in your wifes undies drawer. Or taken your tv.

Maybe. But I arrive before dawn. I defy anyone to see where I hide the key inside the car (which is then locked).
So they'd have to smash glass to get in. Might attract some attention.
And if they did, I just might have a clue when I got back to it.
Also, no license in the car (not necessary in Qld) so they'd struggle to find out where I live.

The 48hr grace period to produce your licence is discretionary now, Trev. If a cnut pulls you over they can still give you a $150 fine.
