Back to this Curl Curl hatred. People really do despise that wave. I worked with a guy who lived across the road and never surfed there. I don't mind it, the shorey can be fun and the pitchy waves occasionally turn into something, but yes lots of take offs into fatness.

I live a 10 minute walk from it. Maybe surf it once a month if that. I just think there's usually better options around. Means getting in the car but I think it's worth it. What makes it worse now is that it is usually really crowded. Even for the dawnie. Crowds have really grown over the last couple of years there. Even in the dead of winter.

But at the mid to north end it was one of the only beaches along that stretch where I used to feel like I wasn't in the city, particularly in winter.
