Hatchy, can you stop waxing lyrical about the QLD points like you're Mick Fanning himself, it's been a long time since you went over the falls at Snapper in 1992.

I surfed them for the best part of twenty years, and still surf them about twice a year. On topic, I used to remember seeing Fanning shredding greenmount and Kirra to ribbons when he about eight years old. Even then it was easy to see he was set to become a serious top contender.

And as for snapper, back in 1992 it was mostly a fat burger wave for mals and surf skis. It wasn't a go-to wave for most self respecting shortboard surfers, unless it was a throaty low tide groundswell. It didn't become a "hi performance" wave til about 15 years ago, at the time they started sand dredging the bejesus out of the tweed across the way.

So get your milk and cookies, and just go back to poostancing semi shutdowns on your $1350 custom "new-retro" sticks please Loofy, and leave the grown up talks for the grown ups.

Unusual board on Gumtree, Miller semi gun with thruster or "dual single fin" set up.

Neal Purchase jr Duos seem to be getting some air play, twin single fins. Hadn't seen another shaper do.

The revolu-twin by Nigel Beckham was/is kinda similar to the Neal Purchase set up. A split single fin essentially.

Nigel was the owner/shaper at Longboard Revolution, based in Tugun. Its purported that the inspiration for the duel fin setup comes from windsurfing.

Thanks Hatchman read the review, had forgotten. I've watched the clips of the Duo and the constant movement and better waves comment on your review I think rings true for the NPJ board too.

/\ I think I remember seeing his shop/showroom way back when but never walked in.

Davros. It felt fast loose and lively but the lines were less skatey and lateral and side to side like a lot of twins, but more of a tighter central feel at the core of it.

Hard to articulate but to me the board felt more sure of itself than a standard hi-perf twin board, most notably in hollow pockets and bowls of the wave where it seemed to fit and feel better, probably due to its split single like set up.

And, the board felt great backhand. There was no problem throwing it into a tight vertical turn. It would feel like it was whipping through re-entries forehand and backhand.

The only reason I sold it because it was simply too big. I'd love one again, but no bigger than a 6'4. Not sure if the dude is still shaping.
