I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Dropped into rhino on the way to a work meeting....
Guess who's board is ready..... Pity Juan wasn't in or I'd have it in my hands.
Picking it up in the next couple of days.
Snuck a few photos in before I had to put it back on the rack.

Just edited my post. Will take better ones later... I also owe the quiver thread a photo of all my boards.

Don't corrupt that thing of beauty with a tailpad.

Wasn't like the experience/process I've had with other shapers like Grant Miller or Stuart Paterson. But it's a very different scenario. Limited amount of time to get all the boards shaped in a finite period of time.

I spoke with Juan a few times before I placed the order which was good to bounce thoughts off around dimensions etc. He's riding a 6'3 mini merk from memory and is only a few kgs heavier than I am so I just went a little smaller.
I placed my order before Malcolm arrived so didn't actually meet him.
There's always next year if needs be.

Had a really long day at work. I'll try and get some photos on Friday arvo after work.

Had a short ride in between jobs today. I've never seen that much spray come out from under my board. Could've been a fluke. I guess only time will tell. This line gets used an awful lot these days, but I did get around sections that I normally wouldn't have on my 6'2 waterskate. It happened twice, once again, could've been a fluke, but only time will tell.

Doesn't paddle as well as my waterskate, but I think that's the reduction in width coming into play. Still paddles great, just not as good.
It was a short surf which was ruined by the southerly. Stoked with the waves I had. Can't wait for the next decent swell.

Not sure if I'll end up going with a tail pad. I noticed how much more you can feel without one. Although I duckdive with my knee so a pad might help with longevity.

Yes - i ended up ditching mine and loving the feeling. If you can keep your back foot over the engine room - all good. I love the natural drive in my bonzers - you feel them accelerate through turns. I'd love a high performance version...maybe next year.

Maybe one of those tail blocks that all the cool kids use just so I don't go too far back! One of the boards on the bonzer5 website is done that way.
