They told us last year we were going to have a monster cyclone season.

no they didn't. they said at least one big one, which we did, and we scored, didn't we?

Negatory. We got a one day wonder swell from TC Lusi which was torn to shreds by twenty knot nor-easters.

As usual, it went around the back of us. But we're getting some gentle rain ATM. With a bit of thunder and lightning.

they say it was the worst since the '85 storm ... i remember that one. Our roof caved in above the kitchen at aspley and the whole house flooded from the back yard and we were in knee deep water.

that was gnarly.

Then rained pretty much all night. Looks like it's just easing up now.

Still no power here. Chatting to the energex blokes outside and apparently they were here at 11am with the tools to restore power to 7000 people but their paperwork wasn't in order so they weren't allowed to start.
Wasn't oh&s either, apparently one of the trees that came down was on the register so they weren't able to clear it.

I'm a greenie by most measures but that is just fcuking retarded

I was still at work when it hit. But the bikepath was flooded and covered with trees and signs and bits of roof.certainly glad I wasn't on a flash roadie.few bedraggled blokes with campognolos (sp?) on their shoulders
Had to ride on the road for a bit, weaving through the gridlock with a big smile on my face

Geez 'boo. Between Telstra and Energex, you don't do too well with the services do you?

Well an energex truck just managed to take out a water mains pipe so the water is off now.
