Free 3d print finbox templates

Post by sanded » Thu Oct 02, 2014 9:59 pm

Hey All

Thought this might be handy for you guys. Have any of you done any 3D printing? Materials are getting better so thought it would be worth asking if anyone wants to try it? After anyone who wants to test them?
RDM - (CAD Designer) has been generous enough to give us access to FREE 3d Print finbox templates!

So all you need to do is just go to this link http://sanded.com.au/3d_fin_boxes_28.html

Look for the design you are after - (there's heaps to choose from, build your own single fin, fcs and futures adapters) click on and download - send to a 3D printer - then use in your boards!
7 different designs - different sizes to fit most fins - AND ALL OF THEM FREE TO USE!! Please post pics on how the designs went as I'm interested to see and get feedback. Thanks

Hey sanded, you should note that there are few plastics available for 3d printing that are UV stabilized, be careful what you use. I have been using fin boxes and plugs for a while, which I draw myself. there are also heaps of surf related products on 'thingyverse'

Thanks Spork

What plastics do you use? Do you use a home 3d printer? Have you made a different box? Or just doing a version of futures/FCS boxes?

Have you heard of or used FDM Nylon 12?
