Trip around Australia

Post by Allan » Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:36 pm

Hi member of the forum. I'm planning a trip around Australia as the title suggests and was wondering if you could help me with some good surf spots to have a look at on the way? I'll be leaving from Coff's Harbour and going up through Brisbane first, anti clockwise around Australia through the Northern Territory, perth and then back around the bight. Any ideas? Thankyou.

This is when i knew Allen was a troll 100%. He has deliberately chosen the worst part of Oz to do a surf trip ie all of qld and such.

Can somebody please explain to me what a "troll" is? It sounds rather offensive.
Coops@DY there are some great surf spots in Queensland. I'm also taking the wife so it's not just a surf trip. I would love to go up through Cairns and see the Great Barrier Reef etc.
Jimmy I am not Tim Baker laugh out loud.

Why would you put this in the tangents/non-surf section? You are clearly looking for some people to put shit on you. Clown.

BA this is the section that seems to be the most popular. Sorry if I made a mistake. I'm not up to speed with this forum thing..

Hi Mustkillmulloway, I'm taking the 2005 diesal Hilux and towing a camper trailer that I'm yet to purchase. I'm putting an extra battery in the Hilux and installing roof racks. It already has a solid bullbar.
How long will the trip take? That's a bit like asking how long a peice of string is. It can take up to a year, but we'll be aiming for 9 months.

With the the way the aussie dollar is and the price of diesel go and spend 9 mths in Indo and you would still come home with change ..........

Saltwater Creek looks fantastic Damage. Thankyou.
Unfortunately the wife won't be coming on our trip around Australia. She said she would rather stay in Coffs Harbour and work instead of spending upwards of 9 months with me. Not in those words. So I've decided to take a long time friend of mine Norm with me instead.
All is not lost however, as the wife will be joining us once we reach Adelaide as she has family who moved there from Coffs Harbour shortly after we were married.

u can consider mounting the second battery into the camper

wires up exactly the same ...just longer wires  but what this means is if u go for a drive u can still have power in the camper

u don't want return home warm beer now do u :P

i'd love go over too solar....some awesome camping set ups

but you can also rely on a generator....what sort camping are you planning :?:

i'm a massive fan of 1770 and surrounding coastline ( more too the surf up there than just angus pt 8) )....but it's very fickle

good thing is this place isn't that far away

http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/carnar ... index.html

and i find it amazing...so you could consider both as stop overs
