that's not our nc! our nc starts the first day off with a cup of percolated coffee, a whirl of classic rock radio and a wank over the steph gilmore poster on his toilet wall, then takes the biggest manliest board he can find in his little brother's garage and straps it on the family wagon for a zoom down to look at his local of a million years. henceforth a quick call to dino who just happens to be wanking over a new piece of italian furniture or a scott walker bootleg album while sipping nescafe with four teaspoons of sugar, of course hungover from wanking all night over a stand-up-paddle-board sculpture exhibition opening in an inner-city warehouse last night. nick a little heart-broken as usual, but fondling the quick-call key for steph gilmore in sweet agonising anticipation helps him through to the beach carpark: in the distance, a bommy. nick does an old rock dance, jumps off... but, a kook and a gumby in the lineup! nick jots down a fable for his fellow realsurfers in his mental notebook while doing the full-chakra paddle-out and way into the inside of the kook and the gumby. the first set looks just like sunset... that's our nc!

ok i've decided to take the plunge. i'm gonna sponsor Lucky Al to cover the rest of the tour from Hanoi. i'm offering a daily 6-pack of the beer of his choice (only condition - must be locally bottled) and a daily ration of dried squid. beers to be collected from my condo in Ba Dinh heights, squid to be sourced directly from the street vendor of his choice.

forget the has-beens and the new deal adolescents -- we all know LA is the only real original voice left in pro surfing, and Vietnam's strict non-extradition stance should allow him to dish it out with impunity

Team Lucky Al : Fcuk Yeah!

But a recalibration of the beer remuneration might be in order.
Al won't get through the first sentence on a sixy.

ok SS at first i thought u were just trying to protect your sorry little kingdom by keeping LA permanently inebriated... but it is true that a sixer won't really get him fired up to his full glory.

how about this - i'll up it to a slab on any contest day where 3 or more heats get surfed. plus the occasional little bonus on other days for particularly random tangents, pithy anthropological observations, demeaning self confessions or choice insults (at my discretion).

Al are you up for it ?!?!?
