This one's come in from a Queensland lab with an impeccable pedigree.

The outline is pure late sixties QLD with an eerie echo of forgotten pioneer....Kevin Platt, who died alone and destitute in a Casino caravan park.
Due to it's similarities in outline to Slater's deep Six (forward foil, round tail) and considering it's late sixties heritage I've christened it the Deep Sixty-Nine.

The materials and construction technique is high tech and contains a lot of secret sauce. This thing is light..
I'd say it'd be 5'10 or 11 by 19 by 23/8 with lowish, soft boxy rails , a slight belly to double concave and continous but pronounced rocker curve.
Hows it ride?
First sesh was at a fun but flattish faced pointbreak. It's lower volume than I've been riding and it felt hard to paddle. It paddled into waves really easily though, and was whip fast through turns. Liked staying close to the pocket.
Really smooth through a backside bottom turn /top turn combo and liked to run that turn through a full arc.

Second sesh on a head high really hollow left rip bank and the board came into it's own.
Some unique feelings related to the forward foil. Hey there's something under my front foot I can push off.......proper bottom turns.
With the rocker curve and outline it runs a full rail carve in the hook.......the arc runs to the base and a small check turn for the barrel......halellujah there's a forward trim point to tube ride on.

Don't know much about the materials but the deep 69 is lively......is that related to the flex pattern?
Too early to tell but I'd guess yes.

This thing with rocker adjusted accordingly will smoke a fish in any conditions.
No tracking.
Thanks Huie.
I'll try and post a pic.

As Salty mentioned the outline is pure single-fin.
A particularly fruitful period of Australian single-fin design......short, forward foiled with roundtails and easy turning outlines.
Think Col Smith, Joe Engel, Thornton Fallander etc etc......just pre-thruster.
Unfortunately when Simon made three this outline was discarded.
Damm thing works a treat as a thruster (and would as a quad).
In fact I think I'm gunna take it for a lap of the Point right now.

Funny one!...yep, there are still hand shaped boards out there! Huie, we'll have to preserve your DNA and clone you from it when all the machines die...
