well I like you too rich, thanks for the support :D

regarding the 7S boards, I actually have one in the quiver and really enjoy riding it in the conditions it suits, and would have no problems wearing a branded t to spread the word and help endorse a board which performs so well to expectations 8) but would prefer they threw the t in for free.

when you look at the internet surf report sites and it says todays conditions are most suited to the 7S boards, they are generally spot on the money.

ok, thats good that the 7s goes well for you but what if you had a board made right here in Australia and the money you spent fed the kids of those fellow Aussies who made it, wouldnt that be better ???

so sick of even discussing this Asian surfboard topic, people dont care, they just want to buy the cheap stuff, no matter the quality or where the money goes to.....I give up...... :x  :? :?

You can't throw that teaser out there Ric. Come on, who is it? My guess is FW.
Yes I can.

Not a reference to Firewire, although it wouldn’t surprise me some time down the track. How the f*ck do you get back literally millions of dollars on R&D et al, making bloody surfboards? Stupid investors with too much money, wonder who schmoozed them? Don’t see that many around these parts.

Hey Cuttlefish
Cuttlefish wrote:Never mind Trumpeter I can happily sell you one of my maximum brand recognition t-shirts for a nominal fee. Behold the "Rip a Quik Bong" t-shirt.
Proudly designed by Moei (that's me for you non-artistic types), locally printed at a secret location in Noosa on (unfortunately) good quality Chinese t-shirts (to keep the price down of course).
Bugger photo upload didn't work.
You sell more tee shirts if you rearrange the wording to "Rip a Bong Quik" and another new tee shirt........No Papa = Bastard boards
Jaffa, I'm opinionated, and I'm sometimes right. So?

Very questionable quality despite appearance, but that isn’t new or unique to imports.
I can remember a few years ago, there were heaps of them around, like Ric said, to select surfers....

.... most of the guys who I know that rode them have 'em in 2 pieces under the house - had a tendency to snap,

Hey Otway,
Back in the early 80's I used to do "Pullabong" t-shirts using the old Billabong logo lettering style.
The ironic thing is I sold them to heaps of surf shops in Qld back then.
Couldn't do that now. All much too straight.
So I wanted to do a design which had the big three clothing mogul labels.
So the "Rip" is off the old Rip Curl round logo
The "Quik" is off and old Quiksilver logo
The "Bong" is off the old logo.
Underneath it has "grass roots surfing"
It wouldn't look any good with the curve of the "bong" lettering to arrange it the other way as I have going across in a neat curve.
Unlike the big 3 mine are printed in Qld not Asia.
Only did them for a laugh and sold quite a few but I find most surfers these days are such mindless walking billboard advertisments for surfing companies the thought of wearing something that snears at their precious brands is repugnant.
Of course its perfectly all right for the average "surfer" to wear head to toe surf gear and use any and all accessories (totalling big $'s) made in Asia by their beloved name brands with no comment from anyone.
But ride a board made in Asia...what a sellout kook.
Only a rat can win the rat race.

Fiji does a tee shirt Bullabong, bulla being the Fiji greeting and I can understand your design needs. Lets keep parody alive and well..
Poor buggers some of the new surfer don't know any better, just see the glossiness , they need the joy of their own personal shaper relationship. remember your first custom board :D :D :D :D :D
