Went to the Manly premiere.

I thought it was quite an impressive movie. It follows a very different formula in comparison to other bodyboarding flicks which have all but followed the same format in the past few years.. but I digress..

I loved the psychedelicness of the movie.. quite trippy in some parts. Great footage of him charging. Good to see that the film had a lot of meaning. Not just to Mike, but for everyone to interpret.

My only criticism is that it didn't have enough footage.. but on the contrary, I guess that attracts a wider audience.

yer totally agree tahn, not a "bodyboard" flick is it! Deep themes upon rewatch, life, death, cycles, connectiveness, experinece etc etc, would also have loves more " mike" footage, but what do you do? Maybs the full release with have heaps of footage in the extras (hopefully).

Said g'day to the man himself and a quick thanks for the inspiration etc. cool guy, down to earth etc ey.

I haven't seen it yet but ive heard Pink Floyd and the likes are in it.

Apparently it was pretty short but the DVD will be double disk so more stuff.

Go to transitsurf (the new fluidzone/same guy accept not over run by kooks (i.e. no forum or pic comments (which imo did get pretty funny towards the end  ) should have a review and what not on it. They also got a mad competition for the DVD.

I thought it was beyond brilliant. Some of the best bodyboarding footage I have ever seen. Mike out Teahupoo blew my mind. Deep as can be, and solid as a rock

There wasnt one tight jeaned, slip on shoe wearing pretty boy with a catwalk haircut. It was Mike, laying it down for what it is, wave riding.

Thats what eeks me about todays lidding vids. is the pretentious rubbish they are filled with. That coupled with to many sections on tow outs and its just lame.

Dont get me wrong. good bodyboarding is absolutely brilliant to watch, and possibly the best craft for getting deep tubes on. But from what I can piece together, there is a sever lack of individualism in bodyboarding. Not many people other than Mike have really made an impression on me in bodyboarding.
