Pasha Bulka - Not looking good

I reckon ( thanks coastalwatch) that the boat is developing a list - Have a look and see if you agree

Some serious energy already exploding on the side. It is going to take quite a pounding over the next day. Can't tell whether it is developing a list or not there Larry, but they must be a bit worried about it cracking and maybe breaking in this swell.

Hard to see how they are going to get it out, but the guys who do this stuff manage some amazing things.

A couple of us were sitting around looking at the boat pics on CW - professional yachtsmen them, no-nothing boardrider me - and that was the opinion they offered up.

Is it me, or does anyone else hope the ship gets torn apart by the approaching swell?

You can see it on CW moving around a bit.

I [k]no[w] nuthin about it as well, so I won't offer an opinion :!:

And sort'a coops  I kinda wish they'd pumped all the grease and heavy fuel out while they could this week (pretty dam hard I know) and then I'd like to see it torn apart.
If it's well engineered it's beautiful .

I just came back from a surf check (the harbour aint working yet, bugger) and the bow of the ship was definately moving around a bit. The back of the ship is still stuck hard on the reef though, so i doubt it is going anywhere.

With the bow moving around, the extra stress on the hull can't be good for her.

A bloke I work with is up there working on the environmental response and word is the ship has major structural damage and is unlikely to come off the beach / rocky bottom in one piece.

Not me Coops, regardless of stupidity or whatever the reason for it being there. If it breaks up it leaves a load of environmental damage, even if they do pump out most of the 700 tonnes of oil.

700 tonnes!!!!!!

I'm in Larry's know-nothing category, but for some reason I'm getting pretty used to the idea of that ship being a permanent part of the coastline up there. It just seems very unlikely to me that it's going to go anywhere now.

If that salvage team does manage to float the boat back out to sea I'll be well impressed.

Anybody know how they're actually going to try & do it? The news reports seem to be scant on detail.
