Re: Where did you surf today ?
Finally a wave in the yellow zone after 3 weeks of lock out............and pretty average at that plus holiday crowds.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
2-3 foot breakwall surf south of the gong. Glass clean, only one other person out. Plenty coming through

See Slowy. This is the sort of detail we need to get the full immersive experience.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
The conditions are certainly punching above mr Braithwaites report
“Wollongong Regional Surf Report: 6.20am Tuesday 5th January: Tiny baby food waves coming from the ENE with light WSW winds early. Perfect learning conditions, or maybe get a turn or two in on the right board at exposed spots for the mad frothers out there who love a grovel. Worth getting wet for on the right board.”
Steve. Your recent talk of attempting airs has inspired me. Plus a mate in SW WA who’s around my age does airs on the regular. All of this has had me thinking why not give it a shot.
So, for the past couple or so weeks on certain sections that i’d typically go for a closeout reo, I’ve been have a crack at it. Nowhere near landing any, but getting a feel for the timing and line I need to take. About a half a dozen times now I’ve managed to project a foot or two above the lip, in a slight clockwise rotation grabbing rail near the nose with my left hand. A bit like lining up an air on a skatey launching off a little quarter pipe.
Hi GSTQ!!

I started on a foamy, which gave me the confidence for when I crashed.
just need a good wedge and an air wind and let it happen.
I think Godsave is too scared to push his limits like that.

Surprised I didn’t even think about trying it out before now. As I spent years back in the day doing them on bowls and half pipes.
Steve, you should see some of the snaps I’m belting out now I’ve got that McCoy nugget back foot caper wired. Real sledgehammer stuff, big jets of spray throttling off the back. Like if you watched that clip of langland mush in my signature, it’d be like me hitting the lip once would be equivalent of twenty of those welsh mush wiggles

Baby food?
Braithwaite is stealing your material, Steve.
He will be throwing in kilojoules and on the stones next.

Second surf. This time a fun little left hander breaking on a mix of reef and sand in front of a creek mouth.
Gonna grab a coffee, and head off for a third session. 🤟

Bra.....ripped the bag out of it. Women were swooning. Fathers were bringing their kids down to watch. A dolphin swam up and said, " Good surfing, Beanie."
"Thanks Flipper." I said.
".....and watch out for that Nick Carroll. He hates Dolphins."
"I know. He's a Cnut."' said Flipper.

You can’t do airs on a McCoy iggy. The loaded dome is like a sea anchor and the only way to overcome it is to put footstraps on your board like cheyne horan did all those years ago

Re: Where did you surf today ?
So how many times did you actually?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
He jumped in his big new car and did the Bean manoeuvre twice. I reckon it’d be easier to get a park in Bondi than Avoca at the moment.
I wouldn’t know though. Because the only person shorter than me is Nick. I’ve got my disabled sticker proudly on display because I need it. Nick is, well as we all know. Nick Farcken Carroll. He don’t need no disabled sticker. Come to think of it! The prick’s probably got a boat on the Pittwater!

Re: Where did you surf today ?
One and a half.
Dilemma; old mate from Sydney up here on holidays with another north shore bloke. They can’t surf well. We are doing the enforced old mate catch up surf. Should I just enjoy it and chat away catching the odd wave and give encouraging head nods if they get waves or rip the bag out of it and leave the water in a “see you fucking later kooks”fashion?
What would you boys do?
