Re: Just general surfing stuff
Still here. Just home from Noosa.
Only surfed Pussy Point but good fun.
Broke a fin though. Not even on the board. It just got turned over in the shallows and "Crack".
Didn't affect the handling though.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Wait, you can't tell when you've got a broken fin, Herr Trev?
Re: Just general surfing stuff
???
Well, it's got a decent sized centre fin. I knew it was broken. Just didn't want to stop surfing.
Could probably run it a a single.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Ok. The rare times I've had a fin issue it's immediately noticeable and means end of surf.

One of the best beach breaks around. Non stop tubes. The Mighty Sunbird wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:55 pmI’ve never seen the surf at straddie before. Looks unreal

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I was disappointed the WSL didn’t highlight the driftwood
But I certainly look forward to a barrel there on my twinnie one day

Erase.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I’m spending a few days at Rainbow Bay. I have surfed here occasionally since 1971. This weekend has easily had the longest average length of board I’ve ever seen. The waves have been longboard suitable, but still, all these teenagers carrying giant surfboards. I’ve been surprised. I don’t get out enough.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Foamy discovers hipster longboard riders.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Very low hipster component. It’s seems like every Tom, Dick and Carrie including the groms.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
How many don't have legropes?
They're the hipsters.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Well spotted Trev. Really been surfing my log a lot lately.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
It’s great young people surfing logs and other stuff. Great to see fit and dexterous youth grooving as opposed to....us.

….this was pushing off the wall not diving in.
...running out of breath underwater hasn’t been an issue. Not too bad for a 62 y/o who surfs irregularly.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Great if they can actually surf the fcuking things. Plenty of wannabes at Bondi.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Well there is that.
There’s a young hipster up here who rides logs exclusively. Classy surfer. It’s 99% shortboard environment so it’s good to see.
