I really like footage of Sunset with the bigger boards.
It's got a metronomic pendulum quality to it due to the drawn out turns, then you get the snaps and closeouts like an unexpected jazz solo.

I wonder how those old sessions would compare to the modern day paddle outs with loofy at the Peak or Cloudbreak.
You know that the Loofmeister General would have savaged it. He would’ve made the TC snap look dated and not paid for a beer for the rest of the trip. And when he got back with the footage. The guy from the gumtree would not only mount his TV. But chuck in the hanging of all of his blown up surf shots. Tastefully printed at Kmart Bondi Junction on canvas no less.

Nick, you should go back to riding bigger boards, your end product is pretty good these day but geez your link up play could do with some work.

That's a very good metaphor AND simile.

We need a like thingo here. I go on this other forum and they have a button you can press that says like or laugh or shock. Or love.

I liked your Sunset story Nick. Probably even loved it but you know...

I love east swell around here.
While sth swells are probably better, no one travels here in an E swell and there’s uncrowded options galore.

Coops said it about 10 years ago. There’s nothing better than an East Swell for the East Coast.
It’s particularly true for the GC. South swells are great for the points but the beaches get very straight so the only options are the points or dbah or Straddie with the hoards.

If the S swell is less than 3-4ft at the point, it gets packed here.

Kirra better in an East Swell, ditto The Pass and Noosa. Currumbin catches south as does Lennox and Burleigh.
Snapper does now but it used to roll into deep water n the old days.
Put your big boy pants on

Best surf in ages this morning. Offshore winds made it super clean.
