I do have the slightly subversive thought that maybe a lot of Australia's really good surf is actually a bit much for a lot of its modern surfing population and that many surfers are a bit scared of the good days.
No shame in sitting it out, iggy. Know your limits, right. And no need to make excuses, you’re among friends here

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Good luck scoring a set wave at The Bra when it's good. Better chance at other East Suburbs breaks....and that's Fcuk all.

I’m gonna say, two gentle jibes about your surfing ability and one about the waves you ride. Close?

Go for it. Educate me. Limits of abilities and wave size please.Lemme guess. Not enough tick tacks and only surf three foot lumpy beach breaks?

Avoca. Had to pick something up. Fun, if soft and flouncy.

South end?

I looked at North end and got a coffee instead. Was the typical one turn close out

I bet Nick and Steve pick up on that one and put it to good use... "Pipe/Lennox was soft and flouncy today, just ideal for adult learners"

Soft and so flouncy at Bronte that it pretty well flounced back out to sea with the backwash. Still managed to navigate to shore on a few to spite the waves efforts to remain unrideable.

Shoulders pretty stuffed from too much paddling lately.

Sounds like I scored then!

Wasn't big, but clean as an OCD kitchen on the pushing tide at t'local.
Looked like paradise, just a foot bigger would've made it special

Yeah, south. Fun little peaks off to the side of the point. Glorious conditions.

The fact that you’ve had to wait for about 8 months to do that kind of proves my point though eh. Pretty nice waves mind. Where did you surf champ? Any pics?
So I'm in an email conversation with some mates about a trip we are planning. Separate to the trip, one of the guys has a lot of family in the UK so is planning to head to there later in the year and will be going to Wales. Another mate in the chat lived there for a few years and (surprisingly) rated it quite highly despite the cold.

Given this is predominantly Australian I'm going to name some spots here "the most constant & my favourite spot is Freshwater West – has a big beach with peaks, 2 good reefs and a submerged slab wave [think Shark Island] . Broadhaven south is also a very good wedge style wave open to all swell. A couple of picturesque spots include Manorbier [reef & beach] and West Dale. There are also lots of secret spots which require a dash across a farm. "

So GSTQ, you holding out an the forum on wave quality?

I just realised AJ may have been referring to his surfing rather than the waves. Can we get clarification.

Some sorta fun little peaks yesterday, that while pretty, lacked the steam to make it anything too exciting.

But seaweed and backwash aside, rest assured I tick-tacked those little left ripbowls over into oblivion.

It was just like wales but warm!
