Any thoughts on that as you have a Wasp and ride the larger longer McNeil?. Never really occurred to me these fishy boards can be shaped as larger boards for larger waves.
I reckon it could be an awesome thing in a 7'er.
My 6'6" CV2 was a great board but my super over-sized 7'2" CV2 was fun in a wider range of wave sizes and had ridiculous paddle power. I could sit out with the longboarders and take their waves off them which was enormously satisfying when they would otherwise be running rotation on all the set waves.
Because it had too much foam for me (especially after I lost a heap of weight) it was a smaller beachbreak or sizey point break board for me.
But....a longer wasp with the right amount of foam would give you enormous paddle power but still turn with its curve in the rear of the planshape.

I know Inam in no way qualified to judge a man like Mackie but I cant help but feel /think his side cut boards would go awful.

Surfed my fish today at elouera. Low tide fast runners/close outs. 3-4ft. Got one right that went for about 50-70m. Pumping hard the whole way. Drive city. It felt like the only thing in the water was the keel fin.
Wish there was someone filming. It felt awesome.

Can't believe how much it loved the close out beachie.

What surprised me the most was that something so flat and wide didn't nose dive on steep take offs

I surfed my old one at Mystics a lot when I had it.Got pitched more than usual but it was worth it for the ones I did make, lightning fast and drivy as hell through cutbacks.

Ssssshhhhhh....don't go spreading this around...we don't want the hpsb devotees to know this...and they can't go vertical...and they run you out on the flats and can't surf in the pocket!
Oh and they'll ruin your hpsb WCT style surfing too.

Fish are evil.

Loving this fish so much on the beaches that I feel it's going to be a while before I ride anything else.
Gotta make sure I don't go selling off all my other sleds. Bought a bag for it off the gumtree this arvo. Only just fit in. Might have to run the tape over it to check its length. Not that it matters. Perfect size for me.

Found this pic. on the backup drive. Dain Thomas double flyer quad. About 9 years old now but still going, albeit with a badly dented deck. Good glass jobs are worth it.

Magic board.
