Maybe sell my quartet to get an entity.

Really nice boards but pretty refined, glad I insisted on the volume when ordering.

Just did that - quartet gone. If i ever got one again, i'd gone round square tail, like my squail - loosens up those big fins.

Hows the cv2 in comparison to the entity?? Is it more of a fish then a semi good wave board??

I think so - i had a couple of Aliens (entity) boards a few years back. One was a gem - snapped it. The next one was a hemp deck for strength, but it was seriously heavy and was a dog. Think the CV2 has one of those huge concaves running through it. I like concaves in good waves.

I ve never ridden an entity/alien (but i will at some stage i am sure) but rode my cv1, cv2 & tt this weekend. I sold my quartet after getting the cv2, the cv2 isnt really a fishy board, its fast like a fish but holds really well....not slidey like a fish. I use big fins in mine só i can really drive & push it...they re quick board for sure, i can generate more speed than i could with the quartet. I use it in punchier waves.

I ve had my tt for 18 months now & its outstanding, certainly the best fish i ve ever ridden. Its really fast & nimble, faster than the cv2 & feels "lighter".....i think that is the lift from the concave. Fast, loose & FUN....i prefer it in shoulder high waves that are not pitching too much.

The cv1 is the surprise, i picked it up second hand & thought it would be a springtime onshore groveller however, even though it is a 5"3 twin fin it has great hold. I run it with sea sheps keels for drive & this helps for hold when angling down steep drops. This one i just ride when i want a bit of thrill/ excitment in my Life! Again its quick & with the keels feels solid. I ve ridden it in waves from waist to head high so far

What i ve found is that these boards take me to different places in the wave & help/force me to draw different lines which is só much fun (they re also very pretty & dont heel dent easily)

Thanks Jam, great feedback.

Re the lightness, yes very light and well refined. I am really excited about the journey on Garys boards I am about to take.

So the CV2 could be a good replacement for the Quartet? Good 2-4t kinda daily driver??

Cheers

Hi derailed, from my experience yes. You probably gathered but to clarify my cv2 is a quad. It easily covers 2-4Ft+, I am 70kg & ran it with a set of clay marzo quads which are a medium size fin but was looking for more drive so put in a bigger set of fins. I don't have much slide but one thing that is consistent is that the cv2 accelerates out of each turn & continues to do so. Pretty cool feeling.
Re: the lightness I wasn't actually referring to the board but the ride. The tt is lightening quick with a full concave/channel it gets a lot of lift & feels light.
Anyways I am sure you ll have fun with the cv2 when I picked up mine I had a chat to Gary who reckons they work in quite large waves & will hold
Look forward to seeing some photos & your thoughts after some surfs (u too Batoes!)

Cool mate... Will have a chat with Gary about the Entity or CV2 as a daily driver.

Yeah, very stoked on the tt, looking forward to getting to know the board.

Yeah I got the aipas too. First surf Slid out a bit and had to nurse the bottom turn on a couple of steeper take offs but I reckon with some adjustment on my part they be cool.
