Grabbed my Vouch. A lot more refined than I’d expected must be 40 litres I reckon. For a 6’8 that’s reasonably low on the vol.
Took it out in 1-2 foot. Not the best christening but couldnt resist. Felt like a board much shorter. Tail is sensitive and it’s loose at the back. Can tell it will be good in waist high up. Fun experience. Very very different to what I ridden. Tried to force some turns and it hated it, once I let the board do the work and and let it flow into bottom turns and cut backs a bit more things started to come together. Interesting, good interesting.

Interesting you say more refined than you thought.
I felt up some vouches a while back and the rails were too chunky for my liking.
They weren't mid vishes though. Just mid singles I think

Definitely not this one. My regular board is a 37 litre Fred Rubble.The rails on this are finer.

I've got a Burton 7'2" Quad I don't ride.
7' McTavish Carver Fish I might start riding again.
6'6" Tolhurst Quad Fish that I love.
All fun but I'm thinking of riding longer for my shoulder.
Have you looked at Brett Munros boards?
Right next door to Vouch I think and a bit cheaper for a quality board.
Also wanted to get a Dick Harvey for a long while.

I ride lots of different boards. Yes for sure Duck, took at while to dial it a bit. I also had the guys refine this a bit.
Sometimes I wish I just rode the same/similar boards. I’d be better but then again.....maybe not.

That’s what makes horse racing. Channels the same for me. Too restrictive in east coast surf. But it would be very boring if we all rode the same things.

This Mick Pierce my mate bought is 6'10 and surfs well small and medium but feels like it would get even beter with more size.
I haven't tried it above 4ft though. This one was shaped in the mid 2000s, don't think many others would have been doing longer twins in that period. Nigel Beckham probably.

I had a 6'4 MR twinny around 1990 with a wider nose than his later twins. $200 new from Jackos.
And before that a 5'10 San Juan twin $195 new, from that surf shop near the Wanda school. It had a fantastic spray and I lusted after it for a while.

True. The Beckham’s looked out of this world. Now, not such a big deal.
