If so, what did you think?. I love my big kahuna 10" dolphin from shapers, but was tempted to try a greenough around 9". I'd get it from the states, as even with shipping it'd be cheaper than here!

I ran a Soul flex (fcs) 9" fin in my Diverse 7'6" GM a while back in solid 4-5' tea tree and found it was ok but I prefer the feel of a stiffer fin especially in that size wave.
Haven't tried it in smaller waves yet which is where it would be in its element.
The 4A for the longboard.
The place to go for Greenoughs in the US is True Ames.
Shipping would be $20 and you could get 2 fins sent for that price (I did).

I've used one in my MSF but I like the board better with a dolphin type as the Greenough smooths out the turn but also draws out the arc. In the waves around here I need a bit more pivot and not the drive the longer whippier fin has.

Had greenoughs in eggs, short singles and a 6'4 semi gun single. Great fin - but you have to be light on your feet. Think I had a 8 and a 9inch.

Tried one in my jackson mal........not so great. Slippy, no pivot or drive. Stick to a stiffy beerman!

The flex is in the wrong plane, and is only used to overcome a poor plan shape.

Found one in aus for $90 delivered, so grabbed one. Will try it end of next week hopefully. I think it's red, so it should be fast :-)(

I have a Thomas Bexon 9'4 old faithful and removed the pivot fin and glassed in a 10" Greenough 4a and can't believe how good it goes, It's not a Larry Allison flex but a True Ames fin which is stiffer than the Allison flex. I think the dolphin would hold in better for noseriding but the 4a loosens the board up heaps and still holds in quiet well when on the nose. Keep us updated on how it's going.

Those regular Greenough flex fins reduce drive due to the flex being in the wrong plane, so sorry.

The 4a is better but needs a small tunnel behind it for drive and lift.

Got the greenough, hope to try it out tomorrow. Pretty small at present, so perfect for the longboard. I really like the dolphin and am used to it, so I'm keen to see how it goes. I put it in my 6'6" egg, and it doesn't look totally out of place. Sits a bit close to the tail, but should work fine. Might take the egg too.

Surfed it today in my 9'1" in fun 2'ers. Went well, a bit less drive than the 10" dolphin, but with around an inch less base that's to be expected. Had enough drive though, and it is much more manoeuvrable. I think next time I'll put it as far back in the box as I can, as my mal is a round pin. Was almost too loose at times. Felt good. My paddle fitness on the other hand is terrible at the moment. Haven't had 2 surfs in one week for ages. Sucks big time.

I think it'd work really well in my egg

Bit smaller but quality little waves this morning. I'm a huge fan!. When you get a few turns together it flies along, and again, manouverability is much better than the dolphin fin. Thinking of getting an 8'er for my egg. In fact, I'm planning on another JD at the end of the year, and I think an egg would work well for me with a smaller fin.

Used them my entire surf lifetime, with a
Liddle.
Gotta be clean. Like a rubber band coming off the bottom.
Also not that hot if it's jacking.
In that case, stiffness "More betta"

No, but I've just put a Cheyne Horan Starfin in my 9' mal, should be interesting.
