The Present

Post by Beanpole » Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:53 pm

Who's seen it?
What do you reckon?
Better than Sprout or more of the same?

Personally I think the West African bit steals the show but its way too short.
Sumartra at the start was pretty photogenic also.

Really enjoyed this one.

What a difference it makes when the editing is sharp and the photography is as good as what was on offer here.

The whacky competition bit was a bit too American slapstick for mine, but didn't ruin the experience.

I saw it at Manly where they went to a lot of effort to get the atmosphere right: traditional boards on display and a young guy doing a good job on the ukulele.

Nice night.

Probably one of the best trailers I've seen for a movie. The opening of Chelsea Geogeson(?) pulling off that take off in Summatra, and the accompanying track worked brilliantly.

I didnt enjoy it.

Didnt feel like a t-moe movie for me. Tried to impress to many people this time. The seedling was raw and ahead of its time.

Although the opening section was insane, but can someone tell me why all the shortboarders were quiksilver team riders, coincidence or funded???

Which is the way to go, Oldman. Just bloody hard because we're always being pulled back or forward.

I thought it was a bit more of the same. I really don't know what to think about surfing ironing boards, sorry, traditional hawaiian surfcraft but the show didn't encourage me to give it a go. Like I said before the african footage was good. The wave made Jefferies look like a day at the pass. It was a pity it resorted to close ups of a couple of big moves on those waves cause the earlier ones where you could see the scale of the wave were much more exciting.

Rasta could make riding a tree look good.

true that lamesville.

But what did ya think of the movie in general? The skit was good, i liked that.

CJs surfing in NZ is obviosly timeless, seeing as its like 6 year old footage!
