Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
Thanks for the encouraging comments. Taking them out on a pointbreak is exactly what I'm planning to do, if I can actually get hold of one as it seems this and the next batch of blanks are spoken for with family and friends coming out of the woodwork to get theirs.

How are new NPJ sticks Batoes? Dumbest thing I've done is trade my Quartet.

Very nice mate. More pics?? Dims??
Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
Ok Beery and you other vicarious hooverers, some more bonzer pRon.
Dims are 7'2" by 21 1/4" by 2 11/16". (Myself 48, 182cm, 87kg.)
The only thing even vaguely retro is the planshape. The rails and rocker are pretty contemporary thru my eyes. Low entry rocker but a fair kick thru the back 1/3, low soft rails. Hard edge in the back 1/3 too. Just fondling this board tells me it's a cracker. The question becomes do I let it cure a bit more or just go for it.

Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
Steve, regarding your octafish, what's the weight like?. Is it lightly glassed? I imagine an egg you could go a bit more glass without affecting performance but how about the octafish?.
Tootr, what sort of glass job did you go for that?, is it light or does it have some heft etc?.

Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
The glass job is regular 6/4/4, albeit with the tail patches. its a little heavier due to the blank density, but not a great deal.

Loofy, Rhino Laminating are the agents for Campbell Bros. Aside from Malcolm Campbell doing an annual shaping stint here, Mike Psillakis shapes them.
Or you can buy one stock. There may be a few places that stock them, Shop Next Door and Zak Surfboards are two I know of.

Quicksilver at Manly used to as well when Luke Short fro LSD was shaping then for CB's out here. I got the deal of a life time, I traded a 4 year old MR 6'2 twinny and 150 bucks for a new 6'8 bonzer Egg. The guy said he couldnt move them.
