This annoys me, people on bodyboards who just flap away with their flippers

It suits me just fine, means that I get more waves and look better than the rest.
But ye, shitty kooks, lets throw them to the sharks.

i basically only do this???
grab the nose dig flippers deep get a couple of good kicks in and then shift your bodyweight?
it looks fucked up flapping both feet and arm around making a big splash.

im pretty sure the only people who splash around are people using there arms. if your holding your nose then you should have your fins not even coming out of the water. this way you get much more power and is easyer on the body.

when you've just caught a wave and paddling in turbulent water i always use my hands to paddle... doesnt create a splash and its quicker... or just in tight situations... only time i dont use my arms is when im paddling back out from the channel or onto a wave or shifting deeper or watever...
Youll only be young once... get out their and enjoy it!

its not the best idea to paddle with both arms when a boil pops up infront of you on an 8ft wave.... found that out the hard way

If its a fast drop then i'll sit back and kick deep while using the arm that will be placed at the mid way point of the board. If its fat NN then both arms come out. I agree that kids look tres kookish when they use arms but sit too far forward so they splash.

some waves i need to kick, paddle and pull on the legrope of a standup to get on the wave.
other waves, all i have to do is point the board in the right direction, no paddle or kick needed.
or are we bitching about poor fin technique?

there should never be any splashing if it's done well, i think we've all gone past the stage of flapping with all our might to try and catch a wave...

anyone who needs to paddle this way, or needs to discuss how to paddle is not a Bodyboarder. They are a person with an interest in bOdyboarding, a beginner, but not a Bodyboarder

Hit a nerve did I nick hahahaha I jest I jest. But come on anyone that cant paddle properly isn't a bodyboarder, and I'm not including people posting in here in this, on re read it looks like that but. I mean if you're at the stage where youre asking advice on paddling your obviously a beginner and ie anyone flapping about kicking there fins in the air I wouldn't call a Bodyboarder.
