i remember the first time we caught the bus from newy uyp there
we ran down to newy to check it before we left, and it was about 6 foot perfect offshore. we thought boxy would be firing like a nazi executioner so we eagerly jumped on the bus.

it was 1 foot.

My in-laws live in port stephens so I am forced to head up there regularly.
I just want to say the whole section of coast is a waste of time. There are no reefs or points that do anything useful.
One Mile Point could get good - but it doesnt!
Birubi never has any good banks.
Zenith and Box are just closeout shoreys

Biggest waste of coastline in NSW. I am going to have to get the inlaws to move somewhere useful like Ulladulla

i remember when i wa sten i walked up the dirt rode of one mile. There was 15ft swell at the point it wasnt breaking on the sand bar it was breaking on the ehadland in the ocean there was 20 ppl charging it with 20 ppl surfing the shories i went out to the middle for some of the smaller ones when the sets came ppl were getting shacked for about 10secs and then riding the wave all the way in for about 300m. The only guys riding these were 40-50yrs old on big wave guns with a goat boat getting barreled too. I can remember many good times out there but like most places if u go up there once a year ur not going to get every single place good cause oney could be good but box is small and morna is onshore

one mile gets good on occasion - but i agree, overall, the place doesn't fire as much as other places. there are much better places not too far away.
