I think the 2 layer idea is the way to go. Beef up the slick so it can be moulded into real channels and concaves and keep a PE deck. For 90 % of riding I find I dont need a soft deck , its only for real landings and threres not really a lot of that going on at local beaches.
The ATD would be good to see...
