Fiji trip, what board sizes?

Post by dpb » Sat Jun 25, 2005 8:43 am

Gidday all,
I'm going on a surfing trip (no mrs coming) to Fiji in August and was wondering about what board size would be best for me and even number of boards I'd want to take.
I've only been surfing for a couple of years nearly and have just gone from a 7'6" funboard style to a 6'8" tuflite, shortboard style (and loving it), I'm 6'4" and about 90 kg's.
Do you guys think I should get another board to take or taking both of these should be ok? I'm not planning on going to any of the real advanced breaks but something a little more moderate.

first OS surf trip? you gotta be stoked!
take that 6'8" of yours, a backup shorty (cause reefs can get hungry and eat your board)
and a bigger board like 7' gun, it doesn't hurt to have that extra paddling power, especially on sucky waves you want to get onto fast.
extra fins and leashes and all the other crap is a good move as well
