Cab Sav by Nick Blair

Post by jamessurfsallday » Wed Oct 22, 2014 10:11 am

This is my new 5'4 Nick Blair Cab Sav i got it secondhand for $450 so stoked. it is a small wave summer fun Groveler for a bigger guy I'm 82kg. its an absolute wave catching machine. Surfed it every day since i got it, so much fun. a lot better than other small wave boards I've tried in terms of paddling, turning and speed down the line, even on 1 and 2ft mush in WA also rode it in 3ft clean beachys goes sick. only thing I'm worried about is getting back on my usual shorty 5'11 as i think ill struggle to adapt.
has any one else ridden one and how does it compare to your other grovellers?

Can't comment on the Cab Sav as it is really not my cup of tea, however Nick shapes some great HPS boards. One of my all time fav boards was from Nick.

It was a board he designed for Dean Morrison for beach breaks.

Nick was based on the Goldie for a long time and shaped boards for the likes of Dean Morrison and Mick Fanning amongst others.

He is now based on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The board of his in question I put under my arm and just had to have it.

Had another surf on my 5'3 cab sav today and had so much fun in the small stuff. Speed off the mark and can put it anywhere in the wave because its so short. It's actually got more volume than my normal shorty. Was thinking about how good it is to have it with summer coming.
