Mindblowing isnt it. I had it 4-6ft and perfect for about 5 days and then it increased to 8ft plus which was out of my depth so went and surfed that fat wave by the other resort.

Your quiver with the 7'6 sounds pretty spot on to me, but hey, we all know I am probably not qualified to give advice on this.

The advantage of a smaller board of course is nice and easy to handle in the water, but for chunky fast surf it may snap easier. At the end of the day it's about being able to get into these things without to much panic, from there I guess it's how who want to ride it, with a bit of style and control or unless your pretty good in soild stuff, hanging on for a white knuckle ride.

Scout around for a decent sized step up or mini gun on gumtree. There's always plenty in there going cheap, as people tend not to ride them that often. I'd mirror what steve and ER said. If you're surfing at size, and in shifting open water, you need a bigger board .

Make sure you give a spiel on your new stick in any conditions I reckon it looks like a weapon.

hey Tonks, if you feel like a road trip its coming into winter/autumn swell season down here, a road trip might be on the cards. You can try out the board and also give my 6'6" black beauty a whirl For comparison. Free accomodation, you bring the beer!
