Ya got me.Ringmaster wrote:foamy wrote:And the single fin basis of speed is the old idea of trimming the board. Finding the optimum balance point. Then you can move up and down the wave. Turns are smooth but with power. Like Steph Gilmore when she moves to the single fin at the 2 minute mark. It's easy, just surf like Steph.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

https://vimeo.com/53199389 Dane and Ando on singles, looks like fun to me.
When it gets to this level of self important stupidity I lose interest.

I've only ever just ripped the fcuking things off.
hate tail pads, they encourage nothing but overly tail based conservative thruster surfing.

I want Nightclub Dwight dead in his grave I want the nice-nice up in blazes
Re: Single Fins
Heat it up with a hairdryer and peel it off slowly. Don't use a heat gun unless it has heatcontrol, you don't want or need it too hot. Some glue wil stay behind on the board clean it off with, wait for it, WD40. trust me I tried everthing on that stuff, thinners, turps, acetone, eucalyptus oil, even brake cleaner. They all just left me with a gluey mess on the board. The WD40 cleaned it off completely.

I find the tail pad useful when I'm landing my air reverse 360°s.

this thing looks insane..

The timeless mid-length heat-seeking missile. Full displacementia, tri-plane hull, vee out the back door. Optional parabolic double concave can be added to the vee panel to transmute liquid light into useable energy.
perhaps a little too flat-rockered (cali-style) for most Aus east-coast conditions, but nevertheless, nice looking board

Re: Single Fins
Snapped the fin outta my old 6"11 pintail single fin. Shep et al; what would be a good replacement? Any suggestions?
As its a sharp down-the-line type board, I was thinking something like this in a nine inch

Here's the pic of it again (pre graphics) just to give an idea of the plan shape.6"11 x 20 x 3

Re: Single Fins
Have you still got the original fin ? If so maybe glass it back on.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

Re: Single Fins
although if you stick the fin on pretty far back you can use a smaller one, say an 8 inch of the same template that you linked.
Re: Single Fins
The fin is no more. Lost it from the board this morning . Surfing without a leggie, doing all this backwards facing hipster fans jive shit and lost the board from under my feet, and it got bounced over the rocks
But, if u need to see what the fun "did" look like, it's a few pages back.
So . It's gone in any case. So what about that true Ames fin I linked before ? Any other suggestions? I really want something hard driving hard turning down the line. Mass grunt , but still fine tuned turning . Scalpel feel etc ...

Re: Single Fins
ER: that fin you posted up looks good. but it's 8" vs. the 9" for the true ames one... what do you reckon would be best ? keeping in mind that i'm an ape (although only 78kg) therefore think that the 9" might be better ?
