Mark, any update on the possibility of snatching the traveler not this weekend, but next?
By the looks of the forecast, I think we might need it badly!!!

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
Hmmm, that is a tough one actually. I'm leaving Brisbane on Sat 4th May. Could do a quick run up the coast on Friday 3rd May to pick it up, or could get my mate possibly to pick it up one night before Sat 4th May.

Thats a different looking dim-SIM MP, customers custom order or an evolution of the general shape?
What sort of bottom do you run in those?

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
its a stocky for a shop mate, been dabbling with a few more quad variations in these of late...ready to really play with these some more after a spell from riding them, now back onto them in a big way, great to go back to old faves and remember what ya liked about them, but ya can have a fresh perspective after the spell,,, newer ideas, different tangents combined with other recent knowledge and design dabblings....always evolving mate......

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
bottom on this one is flat entry ( dislike the hulls myself, especially in waves around here which they are mostly surfed in )...with a very gradual single that gets quite deep thru the fins and right out the tail, but this one has a slight double within the single, stringer is peaked up thru the fins and out the back....done this on a few now, they seem to go great to me...MOREalease rails too....

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
Mark, how we looking for grabbing the traveller this coming weekend mate?
Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
Hi Mark, I notice most of your Dumplings are now coming out with a pin tail, doubly flyer type setup, where the originals were more a standard squash/rounded square.
Can you expand on the idea behind going to a pin? I would have thought more area with the squash wold have been the thing for the little waves these are designed for?

Re: "More" surfboards board porn!
My humble opinion from surfing Mark's Swinger, the round-tail quads with a Ben Aipa style stinger he was shaping and surfing lot a while back: the flyer is hard and cuts off to a sharp edge releasing the water pressure built up on the rail ahead of the flyer, rather than letting that water pressure continue all the way to the tail where it will start to suck the board under water a little, causing more drag. If you combine this with hard edge rails in the tail you still get a pretty clean release of water off the tail but also the extra curve of the round-tail to turn hard off once you really pressure the tail.damo666 wrote:Hi Mark, I notice most of your Dumplings are now coming out with a pin tail, doubly flyer type setup, where the originals were more a standard squash/rounded square.

A squarer tail would have a more uniform and gradual change in response in the degree you weight the back foot, where the flyer round-tail would suddely loosen up I can imagine. The only drawback would be a little bit of planing speed lost compared to a squared tail in more back footed turns.
Am I on the right track MP?
