Nice. Knock off half a foot and it'd be perfect.

heres the ride report to date

i love it 8) it's a keeper

i've surfed in half foot ( sorry iggy) waves up too 2 ft waves ( ok today...love it when surf forecast get it wrong , no crowd saturday 8) 8) )

basicly.....it feels really good...lots drive with the fin back but shitloads looseness too

actually got do a few full turns today....plenty release...i like that

i can see it going crazy as a six footer

lots speed....massive sweet spot...which i love cause it's so hard surf a wave if u feet in the wrong spot and u need nail that first turn to set a wave up not be shuffling around ...all imo

the rails ....are perfect...when i get a close out i try do a big bottom turn into it...thats how u tell if rails are any good...these bite and drive fully off a spot just back from my front foot

it's another backfoot board  ...but it has front foot things going on...like the full rail turns above

it's developed ,,,,,,,,

How much do you reckon is down to the bottom contours and how much the other elements? I've only ridden 1 and reckon the canted fins and v made sense but the hourglass was all bollocks

i think alot it is down too

getting decent waves

look...i dunno....i'm finding the fin is really good...it's stiff as and normally i prefer a flexy fin ( @ least in the tip) but this just feels good

i think the foil has a lot do with it :?

it doesn't feel like a thruster...it doesn't feel like a single

u can feel that single fin under your back foot but the boonzers mean....it don't turn like a single

i'm not making sense

nothin new :geek:

it just feels good, cause we went the trippy concave the cants not what u usually find

shorter....is the goal

i hope

i just get wat i'm given

Enforced dryness lasted longer than expected. But, finally, had a few surfs last few day, on the Campbell Bros 7'2" bonzer five fin egg "return to the water board".
Only midlengths I've ever mucked around on have been classic cheapo "funboards": mate's wives eight footers (with pretty flowers on em) and five times a year on summer weekends work friends' boards. Hated em all. Over rockered, soft railed, relatively heavy slugs. Poop.
But bugger me the bonzer is friggin awesome. Supposed to be something to strengthen the pipe cleaner arms and be a bit gentle on the back but this thing just has something about it.
Too true that when you get em on rain with just a bit of curve in the wave face it's WOOOSHKA. Lots of web talk about them having a "fifth gear", I reckon (ha, expert after three surfs on it!) they are like a single with a turbo fitted. It's not always there but hit the right revs and it just accelerates with turbo boost and a bit of the charisma is revealed.
One turn today, meant to be a gentle thing to guard my back, became a searing wraparound backhand cuttie (well, at least felt like it, and that's all that counts eh), just cause the board said so.
Sorry Steve this one won't be for sale, even when the back allows return to shortboards. Beautiful foil, great weight and magic rocker working with that mental bottom and trippy fins.
Sorry, bit excited, happy to be back in the water.

Yup, been the summer/autumn of big kings here. Don't know where the rats are. We scored eight, with seven over the metre, in one session beginning last week. Best was impressive 1.2m. Kept three. Slimeys only bait they wanted. Had a newby on board and it's the first time I've actually seen someone almost pulled overboard by a fish. Locked drag and 100 pound braid and we only saved him by grabbing his feet as he was going.
And off for couple of days spotted feral (trout) fishin' next week as Sydney loks like a bit of crappy weather. Like the contrast, and both go down well hot smoked!
Mate just called and said some big fin have turned up wide, too.
Havetacatchjewies, your shaped board looks awesome.
