Yeah I'll be ordering from Malcolm.
I was off sick today with a head cold and we all know the best remedy is gargling salt water.
Had a great session on my 6'1 single at Cronulla point. It reminded me of the importance of good back foot placement is. I'm going to try and spend as much time on the single as I can between now and when I get my bonzer. Although by the time it's ready (Juan reckons Novemberish) there won't be much opportunity to ride it until autumn.
I'm thinking the Mini Merk will get the nod but I'll see if I can have a yarn with Malcolm and see what he thinks. Juan rides a 6'3 Mini Merk at the moment which I felt up in the carpark the other day. Great looking boards.
Any thoughts in the e-wings he uses on them sometimes? I've only ever had one board with a flyer on it before and it was in my early days coming down from a longboard. It was an Orange Tuflite 6'2 x20.5 x 2.5 M10 Hogfish. I had some killer sessions on it and still regret selling it to this day. I only surfed it in small waves though.

If you are going somewhere with hollow point or reef type set ups double overhead
Frigging amazing in a barrell - so much control and drive, also very forgiving and positive getting over the ledge

Mistake can be with boards is wanting them to be all things in a wide range of conditions or to mix the best of many designs
then you end up with something thats is pretty good or OK most the time - as opposed to great when you know it will be

$0.02
I've actually thought along similar lines myself. I'm thinking more about getting a 6'2 mini Merk and then just getting a second hand 6'4-6'6 to use as a spare/step up.
Decisions decisions.

Has anyone out there had both Fcs side bites and glass ins?
Not sure which way to go. I told it doesn't make a lot of difference.
I've never had glass ins before. If you rip one out, are they harder/more expensive to repair?

Am I the only one with an order in?

I went with saltmans wise words and got something specific. Not a one board quiver attempt.

My waterskate will be for average beachies. The bonzer for when the beachies and points are going off in autumn/winter and I'll find a second hand 6'8ish to take to indo for if I mysteriously develop a set of balls big enough to push me into anything larger than 6ft (double overhead) surf.
Midlength and longboard for summer.
Single fin for special occasions......
All this of course is subject to change.

I'm kinda glad this didn't pop up before I put my deposit down.... It would've caused all kinds of confusion for me.
I might go have a punt tonight to see if I can raise enough to buy it anyway :D

What kind of board cover do you have your bonzer in? Did you get one that has a slot for the centre fin?

Nup - just a regular cover, but I only use a cover if i'm putting the boards on the roof. If i take the centre fin out, i make sure i mark my spot with a pencil so i know exactly where the fin goes.

If i'm doing the multi-board coffin thing - i put some foam over the glass in runners.

Thanks for that. Might save me a few bucks. I like to have my boards in bags always. They usually travel around with me during the work day so I can sneak surfs in from time to time.
