Re: Josh Dowling Designs
It is worth chasing a good set of light fins, they can make a small wave board light up

Hey - Yes, I'd be doing it with a solid section of all glass inserted, like the tabs you see inside the left fin here -
This is the fin system I'm going to get my hands on next - Gearbox.
Tricky foam caps on the top plate, which can be shaped out a little more than the hard plastic - so you get full fin tilt even in mad concaves. It looks like a cross between Lokbox and FCS. I'm keen.

Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Hey Huie - Yes, the pic is Robin's latest.
I described my issues with putting flanged boxes such as Legions Lokbox, where the rail side of the box needs to be buried deep to get the right fin tilt in concaves.
He's clearly taken that away and thought about it. The plug on the left in the pic has the flange buried under a d'cell insert - so I'll be able to shape back the tops flush with the hard bottom skin, then glass over cleanly.
He's also made CNC cut full D'cell base blocks to fit for me in the 1lb. EPS. And jigs especially for my process.
You just don't get that from anyone else! So I'm waiting at the letterbox.

Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Yes, I believe these slots will be the same as probox - Robin was the original ProBox guy. There is a shallow bridge across the centre of the slot.
And take FCS too.

Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Ah bugger. I sold some Apia twin fins as I had no boards with proboxs. Sick fins. Might have to buy more in future. They're great fins

No no, nothing quite so convivial I'm afraid.Wingnut wrote:Burt Burger & Nev after you Josh...?
I have absolutely no beef with either Hubertus or Neville - they're both very very nice people.
No, this one is more personal and domestic. I'll explain when I'm fully out the other side.

Good to see more JD board porn mate. I will admit to not long ago getting the fish off the rack and putting it under the arm for a bit, generally admiring it longingly
Keep the pics coming.
Has the shoulder come good yet?? Surfing ??

Hey Legion - I've just laid down a deposit on a house, with 90 day settlement terms, so your newy will be done in the existing workspace with no delay.
Some consolation...and I'm going beef up your glass schedule a bit too!
I'm getting out of Groveldale and back to the coast!!
