Have seen quite a few on Ebay and in shops on the Northern Beaches too. Just wondering if they are worth the extra bucks or are people not getting what they expected? Love to hear peoples thoughts??

I think it may be due to the resale value of them as well.... My board has not gotten 1 single dent. So looks new as! People like to chop and change boards and enjoy trying different shapes so maybe life expectancy plays a part there...

Personally I dont like the thought of my firewire sitting in my room for 8 months!

Fair call, yeah they do seem like the most durable and best performing of the 'new concept' boards I have seen. Would love to get a 6'4 and give it a whirl.

Hope yours goes to a good home Carpark.

Dunno if you would call it a good home, but it shall soon be mine. Might even be a blow'in somewhere on the northern beaches while i am in the area.

i assume alot of people are flogging them off (not these boys) but others because they bought it thinking that it was a magic carpet and it would improve their surfing out of sight, unfortunatly alot of the benefits of the board would be unnoticable by your average punter...in my opinion other than improved durability, any percieved benefit that average joe thinks he is getting from these boards would be more pyschological than anything...

in saying that though i do enjoy my FF, and if i think im surfing better and i make some progress then who really gives a FF

I like PU and expoxy...

and its fun mixing it up. its def a buyers market!

There a few more pros on Firewire than you think too... noodles surfs them a lot, kieran perrow, julian wilson sometimes does and of course taj.

Maybe all the pros arent on them because that would mean adjusting to a new flex pattern, and they might think it would mess up their surfing?
They would have to be on their game a lot.

A lot are probably on big deals too - i.e andy and billabong boards
