SUNOVA EXPERIENCE
I have taken the plunge into the "new tech" and ordered myself a Sunova , hoping to get some answers from personal experience or 2nd hand info , regarding the glassing/weight of these beautiful looking things . Wanto did a good review but didn't mention glassing or weight compared to P/U ?? ( I may be wrong) . After a comparison to say 4oz b x 2x4oz deck ?
SUNOVA EXPERIENCE
Wanto,
Think you mentioned you were back and forthing with Bert about the replacement, do you know if you have gone with "Team" or "standard" glassing by any chance ? Cheers !

SUNOVA EXPERIENCE
Thats interesting dimensions compared to my order Wanto, given we are about same weight......I have a 6'6 ordered (i'm 6'4) 19/1/2 x2/3/8 ......do they paddle a heap better or am I missing something ? , I'm no Pro , but somewhere in between intermediate and advanced would cover me .

The website http://www.sunovasurfboards.com/ has recently been updated and you can now see the range of boards. Some of them are full balsa jobs and some are half balsa half clearish. They have some good sprays but unfortunately for you LongyB, no flouro to be seen...longbum wrote:That seems a bit weird for you mate ? midranger ??wanto wrote: dims: 6'4 18.3'4 2.1'4
Has he got the colour any better or is he still running with that natural brown epoxy resin and veneer colour ??
I have a 6'0" Magic Carpet Quad on order. It will be interesting to compare this tech with my Chilli fibreflex.

What glass set up did you go with Gunston for your Magic Carpet ?
Are you going the concave deck ?

Re: SUNOVA EXPERIENCE
I have gone for 'standard'. I figured that it's still going to be lighter than a regular PU board and also more strongerer. Was tempted to go for a 'team' glass job though....DV8 wrote:I have a 6'0" Magic Carpet Quad on order. It will be interesting to compare this tech with my Chilli fibreflex.[quote]

It will have a 'morphlex' concave deck as I have a Bourton Batfish 5'11 x 20' x 2 1/16 that has a concave deck and I really like it that way. Feels like it is more responsive to subtle foot movements. My Chilli FF has quite a rolled deck and my back foot has slipped off a few times. I have had the board for only a couple of months. This has never happened on the concave deck board which is 18 months old.
Bert Burger recommended the concave deck and I have read somewhere that it is supposed to help with the flex.
