Have been friends with him for 20+ years, great craftsman, great family. Would rather spend my money with him than a shaper with a mass produced model, could have got one over here but trust Ross enough to let him go for it.

You could have got one of those fish to match the curtains...or the rug.
Nice looking board.

I liked the shape, Ross and I were discussing a custom for me, yours was the best shape, just needed to put some more volume in it for me!

I find it almost impossible to tell how good a board is from a photo. The distortion is always so deceiving. Like Channels board looks great in the first shot of the deck but looks weirdly elongated and stretched out in the underside shot that shows the channels.
Don't think i could ever buy a board based on photos of it.

I reckon I'm bigger, heavier and older than you (and probably not as good a surfer).
Also worked out quite sometime ago that I surf what works for me, and not what is popular, cool or works for others.

Is that what's called spiral vee?
Re: post your modern day sickness
Wasn't sure whether I should post these pics due to the bitterness and envy they would cause.
Josh Dowling. PU/PE 5'7" x 18 3/4" x 2.4" 29 litres asymmetrical. (He does the odd PU/PE for people if they want something interesting made) Josh did a raised deck in the tail - like an arch bar. So the tail rail is like thin like a HPSB but with more foam under your back foot. Feels great and the board comes off the bottom like a rocket. Still feeling it out and fooling around with fins. Will post update later after more waves.

Nice mate, great to see josh still shaping, albeit infrequently. You just know it’s going to be fast, it’s red!
Re: post your modern day sickness
He's definitely shaping infrequently. It took about two months to get this one out of him. Shaping, glassing, colour work is all top notch though.

I did spy JD lurking with his phone, I didn't realise my privacy had been violated.
