Nth Cal

Nth Cal in Late May. Do you reckon it would be worth buying a good wetsuit and a cheap board for a couple of weeks travelling and surfing in San Fran to south in May?
Alternative is renting.
I presume there's cheap hock shop specials aplenty over there.

That's what we are deciding. Probably as far as Santa Barbara I think.

According to friends who've spent time there, don't miss spending time and effort exploring the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay area.
And Santa Barbara's beautiful they tell me.
Not the best season for waves, supposedly, but should be a great trip nonetheless.
Nick probably knows more than anyone here about California, he lived there.

Not really a surf trip per say but I hope to catch a few waves hike I'm there.
