Biggest improvement noticed quickly- within the first 2 weeks- then plateaued v. quickly.
Well, yeah. That's the frustrating thing with exercise or anything really. Marginal gains are hard.

Didn't notice any extra improvement going to heavier weight.
There's a massive difference between low weight/high reps and high weight/low reps, at opposite ends of the scale. Like marathon runners vs. 100m sprinters. Or endurance paddling vs. sprint paddling.

Regardless, if you're doing 75 reps in a row with 24kg that sounds pretty damn good for a beginner. Nice.

I should note those were subjective improvements ie how much stronger I felt and how I could feel that when surfing.
The greatest measureable improvement came when I went to 24 kg. I dropped a half per cent of body fat and put on a kilo of muscle.

I do 20 gluten raises, 2 sets of 15 flying a dogs and 75 reps of kettle bell swings. That takes about 5 minutes.

Sounds like you need to move to a two pood, or double swings. I'm surprised you're not inducing DOMS with 75 swings.

PttP was an eye opener for me in how you could get fcuking strong and not deal with DOMS. I eventually asked myself WTF I was doing, when I'd be too sore to surf or train martial arts. Or at least, do other activities in pain. PttP for strength and HIIT for cardio, to round out the acronyms. Smart training right there. Nowadays I find cycling pretty good. I'm not a distance cyclist but I can smash out 90%+ training zones for 20min and it's really good for my endurance, although you do pay a bit of a price later on if you go too hard.

Did a boxing workout today for the first time in 10 years.

Was giving away 45kgs to the guy I partnered with for pad work, my hands were tingling for an hour afterwards and he couldn't punch for shit. Plus he kept forgetting to start sets with a jab so nearly clocked me a few times.
By the end of the course when he can punch he'll knock me into next week.

Also did another training paddle. Had a short window so only did 5kms. Tried to do an interval set but for some reason I couldn't get my HR above 150 even when at 13.5kmh.
Strange.

I'm no stickler for thread purity, happy with the hybrid vigour.

well fcuk the lots of yas, the super chick and I are gonna try to break the Long Reef to Newport record on Thursday. It's just on 11k and the record is 48 mins. You need a lot of wind and a relaxing tide. I am not really physically set for it but whatever, she is. She and Lizzie Welborn did Milsons Point to Palm Beach on Sunday in just under five hours.

Milsons Point to Palm Beach. That's an epic and beautiful paddle! How far do you reckon? 45 kms?
