Nicaragua
I know offshore has been, anyone else?
There's a chance I'll be going there in June/July.
Would be going to Popoyo.
I speak zero Spanish but was planning on taking a course this year anyway.
Safe for kids?
Need to take my own board?
Anything else worth knowing?

Re: Nicaragua
Great olas boo. I stayed north of Popoyo, little fishing village called Miramar, near Puerto Sandino.
Plenty of boards to rent down your way, not so much out in the boonies where I was.
The more Spanish you know the better off you'll be.
Nicaragua is an extremely poor country, but I found the people to be on the whole proud and friendly.
Keep a close eye on that mossie-bourne virus, Zika , if you and Missus Boo plan on any more little boos.
In fact, el rancho, better check the head size of your new twins. ...

Re: Nicaragua
Missus Boo would probably think it was a good thing if our kids had smaller heads.
But that virus looks nasty.

Remember catching an esrly morning bus from the capital Managua to costa rica.
As they let us out our hotel at 5am it was still dark. A bloke sleeping rough on the other wide of the road woke up and when he saw us he blew a whistle. My wife and I legged it the 200 meters to the bus stop as all these degeneates started appearing out the dark, one of them holding a baseball bat.
Prob one of the scariest moments in my life.
Other than that, San Juan Del Sur and surrounds were ok, it is poor though which isnt such a bad thing. Rubbish strewn everywhere, kinda shitty. Some nice waves about, and fine with kids - just obviously no travelling at night/early mornings.

Re: Nicaragua
Yeah I reckon Managua is analogous to Legian / Kuta in Bali, but poorer and more desperately dangerous.
I took a bus to Leon on a small surf day, dowdy old colonial city and former capital. Pretty interesting. Still a lot of influence from the Sandinista revolution back in the'80's.

Re: Nicaragua
I'm looking at going for a few weeks in September and staying on the coast west of SJDS. As long as there is fresh fish and a few waves I'll be happy. Let me know how you get on Boo
Re: Nicaragua
For a range of not very interesting reasons, the trip is off.
Re: Nicaragua
Mrs catch you with your fist up the nanny Boo?

Re: Nicaragua
To be completely clear, I'm answering Jimmy not loofy.
It was too tie in with a work trip to the US, which has been pushed back 6 months, and a mate was going to be working there but now may not be.
Come after me all you want loofy, I'm a big boy, but family is off limits. Extend the same courtesy you received in the Kids thread.

Loofy gives as good as he gets but he does seem to not understand where the line is. He's making a habit of it.alakaboo wrote:To be completely clear, I'm answering Jimmy not loofy.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Nicaragua
Trev I may be a bit old school but I think it's safe to say there's a fair bit of grey area to pass through before you're asking strangers if they fisted the nanny.
Loofy knows what he's doing. Eventually he may even figure out why.
I've answered the question before loofy and I won't dignify it by answering again.

He really needs to pull his head in.

Ok Trev, you didnt like my fisting the nanny joke which had no correlation to anything ever in the history of the universe, we get it.

And you had a go at Braithy a while back which was at about the same level. Ron pulled you up on that one. Braithy told you it was cool but it really wasn't.Drailed wrote:Ok Trev, you didnt like my fisting the nanny joke which had no correlation to anything ever in the history of the universe, we get it.

Re: Nicaragua
anyone remember that survivor series in Nicaragua ..? not sure where in nico it was filmed, google would tell you.
i've always watched survivor, but that series sticks out the most. i spent the whole season watching the perfect, thumping beachies in the background. it really struck me how many perfect beachie days that place gets. the place where survivor filmed was like porto escondido or off the wall.
