The thing to keep reminding yourself is travel light.
So I usually take a compact camera that can take some footage as well.
You may get the odd great shot, but at the end of the day any pics or footage you get will be just for your own trip down memory lane another day.

Roll-on tropical strength Aerogard is good and it's compact and aerosols are best avoided, buy a couple here.
Take some 50+ sunblock too, that's the strongest you can get here, but in Indo last time I saw 85 and even 115+ which I was pretty dubious about. 8)

At checkin they weigh your luggage, you will have the chance to pull out and rearrange things if it's too heavy. I always jam as much heavy stuff as I can in my carry-on bag, sometimes carry-on gets weighed but the allowance is pretty liberal. In Aust. checkin is where they fleece you for a few $ if they can, but the Indos didn't seem to care about excess weight last time I went.
Honestly if you come anywhere near the baggage weight limits, you are carrying too much crap for Indo.

Stuff I wished I'd left behind? 50% of it, even though I've done it so many times and live by the travel light rule it still happens. You can almost just take the clothes on your back, if you need anything else it's a good excuse to have some fun shopping and play the bargaining game with the experts.

Tip for your boards…get some rubber (old thongs) and make a small 6" X 2" piece and tape it over the nose and tail before it goes in your board bag. Take a roll of packing tape with you for this. It's saved the pointy bits on my boards many times.

I used to use Sunsense but I found that Banana Boat one in the shaped orange container with the handgrip on the side is really good. Getting hard to get for some reason. The other types by Banana Boat don't seem as good.

I usually just wrap bubble wrap around the ends and chuck a pair of boardies and a towel in.

After sun spray soothes, but the alcohol is bad for your burnt skin.

Banana Boat, Hamilton or Cancer Council.
I think what your mate was possibly referring to was about when we weren't allowed to label as more than 30+, despite being the same formula as 45+ or 60+ overseas
Choose a broad spectrum one whichever brand you go with.

Bushman's extra strength will keep the mossies away even in a jungle, but it also melts plastic and don't get any on your sensitive areas.

banana boat and then zinc over the top, can't get burnt.
they don't weigh your carry on, like ever, so load up.

I have used SPF 30 sunscreen by Hamilton, Cancer Council and Amcal while over in Indo. Never used zinc before but then again I tan easily and have a bit more burn resistance than your average Englishman.

Here's the top of the line Matty.

Ella Bache sunscreen foundation.

It contains both Zinc and Titanium Dioxide which have a complementary effect in terms of blocking rays from the UV spectrum (confirmed by chief scientist at Hamilton sunscreen)

it's expensive but lasts a long time and never comes off.

Put normal sunscreen on then this shitt on top, you are good for a six hour session through the middle of the day.

Buy a pack of nappy wipes and wipe clean at the end of the day.

Shower then apply virgin coconut oil to skin. Ready for anything champ.

It is.

If I'm tight, I'll put it on one day and it'll still be good for the next day if I don't wash it off.

dress nicely for the plane ride over matticus. you want to appear dignified and respectful whenever setting foot on foreign soil for the first time.

Take a pack of cards.
Then you'll have 4 suits.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

You're a card Trev you should be dealt with.

Wear some sensible sandals and calf high white socks Matt, just don't come home in a Bintang singlet with your hair in cornrows.

Um Matticus you do realise Indonesia is one of the most densely populated places in the world?

Bali has the same population as Australia.
